Inside the House
Wild Atlantic House is a typical nineteenth century Irish farmhouse on the West Kerry, Dingle Peninsula. It has been our family holiday house over 50 years and it is where we meet up with our friends & extended family.
The dining hall, with its open fire, has many traditional farmhouse features. The room retains its nineteenth century wooden beams, along with its original fireplace and staircase. It is the ideal spot for candle lit winter dinners in front of a warm turf fire.
The peaceful sitting room was once the parlour, a cosy room with a traditional fireplace and comes complete with books, board games, cards, water colours, maps and jigsaw puzzles. Also, a music box which plays CDs, LPs (45s, 33s and 78s) and tapes.
The bedrooms have sea and mountain views, to the front of the house and at the back of the house, across green fields. The twin bedrooms in the front still have their original floor boards and fireplaces.
We provide extra blankets and hot water bottles in the winter months for our friends.
The kitchen is well equipped with electric hob, oven and grill, electric kettle, fridge, freezer, microwave oven, toaster, dishwasher, food processor, fish kettle, pots and pans, cookery books and more.
The barn has wooden floors boards and is frequently used by the artistic members of our family.
All the shower rooms and the bathrooms are spacious and have windows with views to the rear of the house.
The modern showers have a good hot water supply.
